Suffering from post-Christmas spending fatigue? Read on …………
It might be fair to say that many of us would enjoy Christmas much more if we could only reduce the spending hype that precedes it. The giving is great but it may have left a large hole in our pocket and possibly some gifts that are surplus to requirement. If so, then maybe the T3 “Swap Shop” evening will help solve both problems.
T3 invites you to come along to a “Swap Shop” event to which you can bring along any new item – or items – that you don’t need and in exchange receive a token or tokens that you can then use to trade for other items that have been brought along, regardless of actual value. Please only bring along new items that you don’t want or need and bear in mind that while you hopefully will go away with something you do want, it may not be exactly like-for-like in terms of value.
T3 – Transition Town Tramore – is constantly looking at promoting a more sustainable way of living and this initiative to recycle unwanted presents is an attempt to show how we can reuse items, reduce waste and save money into the bargain. Any surplus items at the end of the evening will be donated to charity.
As part of the evening there will be a showing of the short animated film, “The Story of Stuff”, which takes a quirky look at our seemingly unquenchable desire to accumulate “stuff”.
The event will take place on Thursday, 19th January, at 8.00pm in the Grand Hotel, Tramore.
