Get Involved!

Transition is YOU!

Change is happening in our climate, economy and community. We can all sense it so we have a chance to prepare for another way of living.

Who could be involved?

People who remember life before the modern dependency on electricity, cars and travel and have stories to tell of how a lower energy lifestyle was not so bad, or may in fact have in some ways been better, are wanted to build transition. People who are enthusiastic and positive about change are needed. People who have earned the respect of their community through voluntary service and leadership in other community groups are needed. People who want to learn new skills and exchange old ones are needed. People who know how to darn a sock, fix a bicycle or mix up a herbal remedy are needed. People who know how to lift a groups spirits in music, song or laughter are needed. People who want to create habitats and green pockets for wildlife throughout our town are needed. People who know how to radiate calm in difficult times or weather out a storm are needed. People who know how to plant a tree, and nuture a seedling. People who are frightened of the scary stories about climate change and want a friend are needed. People who want to find out more and share their thoughts are needed. People who know how to work a spade, dig turnips and grow aubergines. People who know how to turn a collar, stitch new from old. People who can bake a bun or make jam to last the winter from summer fruits. People who are prepared to speak up and people who are prepared to listen are needed. People who have entrepreneurial visions for a different tomorrow. People who believe we are in the Age of Aquarius. People who think its time to pray. People who want to have a laugh and play with how we live today. People who care about tomorrow.

Transition is YOU!

The ethos of transition is about inclusion. There is a place and a need for everyone to get involved.
The recent economic crash, and collapse of the celtic tiger has rocked the sense of stability and security in our society. However, the impact of climate change and the end of cheap energy, with impending peak oil could potentially change our way of life considerably in a short space of time. Transition aims to plan for changes that will be imposed on us by circumstances beyond our control.

Tramore has huge potential to be a leader in transition, which could benefit tourism, local business, local food production, local energy use reduction, community spirit for a start. Where it goes depends on where we want to take it! Talk to T3, info@t3.ie and let us know of your club, group, school, or businesses plans for reducing CO2, increasing community spirit, improving our environment or supporting local business. T3 – Transition Town Tramore – aims to be a platform through which we can support each other.
